Highlight of the Week
Jerry: Getting trail magic from Jimmy on a fire road six miles before Hot Springs. I had Mountain Dew, a honeybun, and a Twinkie.
Bennett: Loved finally getting to see Max Patch! Was such an awesome area and view. If it hadn’t been so windy, I would have definitely loved to camp there.
Karen: Sun and sand.
Lowlight of the Week
Jerry: Falling on the trail on one of the last uphills before Spring Mountain shelter. I took a spill forward on roots and scratched up my left shin badly.
Bennett: Spending too much time in towns starts to make me anxious. Was feeling pretty sick the second day too.
Karen: Driving through three hours of heavy rain on vacation, then having a dead battery when it was time to drive home.
Memory of the Week
Jerry: Spending time with Queen Diva at the Ministry in Hot Springs eating homemade chocolate chip cookies, getting our digital pictures taken and posted, helping with label making, and meeting the other hikers that came through.
Bennett: Splitting a Hot Springs hot tub with Kozi and Lobstah. Was so relaxing.
Karen: Playing Zoo, Tap-Tap, and Big Booty at dinner every night.
